Treatment of thyroid cancer is typically coordinated by an endocrinologist or an oncologist.

In the United States, an endocrinologist usually coordinates treatment. Oncologists may or may not be actively involved. In advanced cases, oncologists may be called upon to provide recommendations and oversee the administration of chemotherapy.
